Bunch of Grapes Shutter Dogs

Shutter dogs dogs are hardware components used to secure exterior shutters in an open position.  Our fanciful grape shutter dogs lend echos of Roman Bachannalia to the exterior of your home. 

Made of cast iron, and powder coated in black, this pattern was reproduced from an antique piece and is sand cast by hand. 

The lag is usually mounted on the house's exterior wall, and the rotating arm extends horizontally and engages with the shutter to hold it open.

When not in use, the arm can be rotated or folded back against the base plate, allowing the shutter to be closed.
